Becoming a Veteran-owned Florida Hard Money Lender

MEET EDWIN

Welcome to my company; please make yourself comfortable. Grab a coffee, drink, or cigar and let’s get to know each other! First, I would like to introduce myself, tell you a bit about my journey and hopefully give some insight into what I find valuable and attractive when deciding to work with a real estate investor like yourself.

I grew up in a family of 6; I am the oldest. We grew up in KY, on the Southside of Louisville. We grew up attending a Southern Baptist Church, and our parents loved us and reflected the love of God in their relationship and parenting. I graduated high school in 99’ and picked up two jobs. I was not ready to study but rather decided to work and find out what path God had for me.

Sept 11th, 2001, happened and I felt a strong pull to serve my country. In the Spring of 2002, I shipped off to Infantry basic training in Ft. Benning, GA, and my life would never be the same. Over the next 13.5 years, I would deploy seven times, and I participated in the liberation of Iraq in 2003. During my time in the military, I attended and graduated from some of the hardest schools the Army has to offer; Air Assault, Airborne, Pathfinder, Ranger School, Special Forces Qualification Course, SERE (Survival.Evasion.Resistance.Escape), Combat Divers Course, Special Forces Advanced Urban Combat Course, and Achilles Dagger.

My time in the service honed my ability to make decisions under pressure and to be confident in leading a team to hell and back. I learned that experience is the greatest teacher and communication can right many wrongs. I learned the value of relationships and to cherish and value the time we are given on this earth by our Maker.

“Experience is the greatest teacher, and communication can right many wrongs”

Freedom of Time, Freedom of Lifestyle

The greatest realization I had when I made my first loan, while deployed to Afghanistan, was the fact I could invest in real estate and not be geographically restricted. I had the ability to leverage other professionals’ time, knowledge, and experience to help me mitigate my risks, and build generational wealth. Contrary to what many people believe you do not need to be extremely wealthy to make loans. I came from a blue-collared household, both parents worked, my father was in the restaurant business and my mother worked at our church. And I was making decent money as a US Army Green Beret, but not to the level that I could afford to make dozens of loans. So how did I make my first loan, and continue making loans today?

I met one of my attorneys from Nevada, who helped me create the “Specialized Lending Trust” or SLT, and this vehicle allowed me to partner with my friends, family and investors who I knew, to be able to make loans. This was different and unique in the fact they were not lending to me, but together, we were playing the role of the bank, mitigating risk, and controlling the asset but not assuming the liability and responsibility of that asset. This was the purest and truest form of passive investing that generates passive, monthly income!

If this method of investing in loans, secured to real estate, sounds interesting to you, watch a brief video covering the SLT and why investors have greatly appreciated my Turn-Key Private Lending solution offered to passive investors below. If you’re interested in learning more you can schedule a call with me after watching the video. May God richly bless you and have a great rest of your week.
